The standard Bujinkan outfit is a black "keikogi". This is a traditional Japanese martial arts jacket and pants similar to those worn in Karate and Judo.

This is not required until students have achieved their first grade, so until then a tracksuit pants and t-shirt is fine.

All students are required to wear socks or "tabi" - a traditional split-toed slipper.

Black keikogi can be bought in martial arts shops and on-line. Tabi are usually purchased while instructors visit Japan but may be bought on the internet as well.
