This martial art is headed by Dr. Hatsumi Masaaki of Japan, who completed his apprenticeship of the 9 schools of the Bujinkan under his own teacher Takamatsu Sensei - the last active Ninja.

For 15 years, Dr. Hatsumi learned the 9 schools from Takamatsu Sensei and for another 15 years he travelled the world transmitting his knowledge to martial artists in many countries. His last international seminar was held in 2001 but he continues to teach in Japan today. The result of his experiences is Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu - a contemporary martial art born out of traditional Japanese combat systems.

Every Bujinkan teacher is expected to continue their studies in Japan under Dr. Hastumi and his master teachers as regularly as they can.
